Christie Brinkley wants you to stay safe in the sun this summer.
While discussing her beauty routine during a recent interview with Page Six Style, the seemingly ageless Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover star said sunscreen is her “No. 1” tip for turning back the clock.
“I can’t say it enough: Sunblock and a hat will do more for you [than anything else],” the 70-year-old supermodel told us, name-checking Supergoop and La Roche-Posay as her go-to SPF brands.
“And take it from me, because I didn’t do enough sunblock, I did get skin cancer, and I also have to deal with hyperpigmented and hypopigmented spots,” she continued, adding that she even points out her skin damage to her daughters, Alexa Ray Joel and Sailor Brinkley Cook, to scare them into wearing sunscreen every single day.
“I lift my skirt, I show them my thigh and I say, ‘Look at these spots! You don’t want that!’”
The avid gardener — who recently launched her new Hamptons-inspired clothing line, Twrhll, at HSN — is far from the only famous Supergoop! fan.
In addition to being a staple of many a Page Six staffer (this editor included), the brand’s invisible, weightless Unseen Sunscreen‘s won shoutouts from Kaia Gerber, Camila Cabello, Mindy Kaling, Riley Keough and Lady Gaga’s longtime makeup artist, Sarah Tanno — the latter of whom called it “the sunscreen to end all sunscreens.”
Supergoop!’s activity-focused Play Everyday Lotion is a hit with beauty pros like Bobbi Brown and Shani Darden, while the luminous Glowscreen‘s a go-to for Brooke Shields, Lindsey Vonn and Olivia Culpo.
Kelly Ripa and Kate Moss, meanwhile, are Team La Roche-Posay.
The talk show host says the “light coverage” of the Anthelios Tinted Mineral Sunscreen is great for a “sun-kissed” glow, while the ’90s catwalk legend recently added the colorless Anthelios Light Fluid Sunscreen to her routine at the urging of daughter Lila, telling Vogue, “My daughter tells me off all the time; ‘Mommy, you have to wear sunscreen!’”
Brinkley would be proud.
