Gina Kirschenheiter is defending her polarizing style on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” as fans continue to reel over a recent look she wore in a confessional.
“I’m not even going to lie. I loved it. When I looked in the mirror, I was like, ‘This is my favorite interview look of all time. I look good!’” the reality star, 40, tells Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” while promoting her back-to-school partnership with Clorox.
“Like, I was really feeling it,” she continues, raving over the metallic Noam minidress that has apparently incensed fans. “I had worn that already to a party and I literally texted my producers and I was like, ‘I feel so good in this, I feel like myself, I wanna wear this in my interview chair.’”
Kirschenheiter admits that the garment did not “translate” on camera and even calls it a “hiccup.”
“I think it was the gold reflecting that kind of washed me out, it was the angle a little bit, you know, extra volume on that head,” she says, acknowledging her larger-than-life bob with a deep side part. “So, I don’t know.”
While the New York native’s hairstyle was met with a stream of negative online reactions, she still has an affinity for the statement-making ‘do.
“It’s so Long Island!” she exclaims.
It has become a trope among “RHOC” enthusiasts to come for Kirschenheiter’s sartorial choices and perceived beauty blunders — particularly in regards to her ill-fastened hair extensions of the past — but she believes that her personal style is progressing.
“The one thing that I would like to communicate to everybody is that … I understand that maybe I’ve had my moments in the past but I have been … consistently serving for a few years now,” states the blond beauty, who joined “RHOC” in 2018’s Season 13.
“This is just one little hiccup but it’s not a setback, all right?”
Kirschenheiter first addressed her glimmering getup and accompanying teased coif in a TikTok shared Monday.
“I just want to hop on here and let you all know I get it, I hear you. I see what you see honestly. I understand you don’t like this interview look and when I saw the episode prior to it airing, I said, ‘That doesn’t look great,’” she said.
However, the Bravolebrity emphasized that she “actually really [loves] the whole outfit” and believes that “it actually looks pretty great” offscreen.
“But I’m not going to defend myself and I see what you see,” she concluded. “And the bottom line is you can’t land every plane. So I can just promise you I get it and I will hopefully do better next time — can’t even really promise that.”
“The Real Housewives of Orange County” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
