Kate Middleton’s uncle reacts to being called a ‘bad’ relative after cryptically talking about her whereabouts

Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith admits he feels bad about the public’s perception about him.

“It does hurt for when you’re always referred to being a ‘bad uncle,’” he said during his exit interview on ITV’s “Celebrity Big Brother” Friday, according to the Mirror.

Carole Middleton’s brother, who was the first house guest eliminated on the reality show, said he appeared on the series because he “wanted to change” the public’s opinions.

Goldsmith added, “What an opportunity to have a sneaky peek behind the world of celebrity. I’ve tried to be myself, chuck in a royal thing a little too often.”

Earlier this week, the 59-year-old Brit made a cryptic remark about Kate’s whereabouts, which has been a hot topic in the media after her abdominal surgery.

When asked about his niece by fellow contestant Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Goldsmith said at the time he could not speak about how Kate, 42, was healing from her surgery because of the “code of etiquette.”

However, he said he would offer his opinion on the matter if more news came out.

Goldsmith also tried to appease concerned contestants by assuring them Kate was “getting the best care in the world” and she would “of course” be back in the spotlight eventually.

Per the Mirror, the now-reality star admitted that perhaps he did “volunteer a lot” of information, adding, “You caught me.”

However, Goldsmith said in his defense, “To be fair, people were asking me about it but they didn’t know what else I was. Why are you here if not for that? People were asking me a lot of questions because they didn’t know what to ask.”

People have been concerned about Kate’s whereabouts after she went two months without being spotted in public, with some even hypothesizing she was gravely ill or in a coma.

Fans were able to breathe a sigh of relief, though, when the mother of three was recently photographed sitting in the passenger seat of a black Audi SUV near Windsor Castle on Monday.

Aside from his loose lips, his inclusion on the hit show upset fans because of his history of legal issues.

In 2009, he was allegedly also caught with cocaine in Ibiza.
