Zayn Malik attends first public event in nearly five years at Paris Fashion Week

Welcome back, Zayn Malik.

The pop star made his first public appearance in nearly five years at Paris Fashion Week on Friday, looking sharp in the front row at the Kenzo runway show.

Malik, 31, attended the brand’s fall/winter 2024-2025 fashion show and sat alongside musician Pharrell Williams, former CEO of Christian Dior Sidney Toledano and singer Rita Ora.

The former One Direction member looked dapper in a navy blue patterned tweed suit, which he left open to expose his white dress shirt underneath.

He tucked the button-down into his slacks while leaving the collar partially open to show off his heavily tattooed neck.

Malik completed his edgy look by styling his long, highlighted locks in a voluminous, slicked-back ‘do and sporting a 5-o’clock shadow.

While it’s unclear exactly why he decided to make a surprise appearance at the fashion event, Malik has always had a passion for fashion. In 2017, he designed a capsule collection with Versace and was even lensed by then-girlfriend Gigi Hadid for the campaign.

Though his claim to fame is music, the father of one also had a clothing line of his own at one point. Malik announced the launch of his now-defunct limited-edition merchandise collection, Paynt by Zayn — which featured designs from his own paintings and artwork — in June 2022.

The last time the “Pillowtalk” crooner walked a red carpet was in May 2019 when he attended the premiere of “Aladdin” in Los Angeles.

Cutting a biker jacket-inspired sport coat and pants, Malik ditched an undershirt as he posed for photos with Zhavia Ward, with whom he collaborated on the live action’s version of the classic movie’s hit song, “A Whole New World.”

Prior to that, the UK native had not been seen at an event since the 2018 Grammy Awards.

He has remained mostly out of the spotlight since his split from Hadid, with whom he shares 3-year-old daughter Khai.

The pair ended their five-year, on-and-off relationship after the supermodel’s mother, Yolanda Hadid, accused Malik of hitting her during a heated argument.

Although the former boy bander denied the allegation, he pleaded no contest to harassment charges and was ordered to complete both an anger management class and a domestic violence program.

In July 2023, Malik appeared on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast for a rare interview, during which he argued that if the altercation were as bad as many were making it out to be, he wouldn’t have 50 percent custody of his little girl.
